PLAN OF PREPARATION

This post is mainly for the people who are preparing for IAS prelims
on May 20th.

Important books to be covered without fail :
  * India Year book 2012 - Even though this book has been covered
extensively in the institute, it is advisable to buy it and read it
again on your own. This is a very important book for book prelims and
main. It is usually in the market by Feb 1st week. It might be
available on flipkart or you can contact the institute, and request it
be brought for u from delhi.
  * Economic survey - This is a compilation of facts and concept,
released along with the budget at the beginning of the budget session.
It is usually available by March 1st week. Is a important book for
economics, general studies and current affairs related questions.
Ideally, you should be able to finish the IYB by the time The
survey becomes available.
 * Current Affairs - You can refer to the notes and supplement it with
chronicle/wizard/civil services times magazines for the months
( May2011 to Feb 2012). And from feb 2012 i.e. this month, read the
newspaper and make notes from it. Refer to a standard UPSC blog like :
http://theonlinegk.wordpress.com . PLEASE do remember that in the IAS
prelims there is a profound bias towards current affairs in all the
questions. Focus on the current affairs in polity, social sector
schemes, bills, trade , climate change, Science and technology and
International affairs.
 * Ecology, Environment and Climate change : Current Affairs and
little background work on the internet should be more than sufficient.
Science reporter magazine ( available ) in the institute can be used
as a supplement.

The other conventional subjects like Polity (M.Laxmikant - Indian
Polity ) , Modern history (NCERT class 12th or A brief history of
modern india - Spectrum publications ) and general science ( NCERT std
10 - Physics , Chemistry , Biology ) need to be covered simultaneously
on a regular basis.

The target should be to be done with all the above by Mar 20th. i.e.
with 60 days left till the exam.

CSAT :
 * CSAT preparation should be started from now onwards or if not
possible now, atleast as soon as the KPSC prelims is over.
 * It should be done regularly, daily for not more than 4 hours. If
done simultaneously according to plan, CSAT syllabus can be finished
by April 20th with a month remaining for u to revise.
The plan for CSAT, if u want , i will post it here on a later date.

ALL THE BEST!

destiny to do, and then do it." - Henry Ford
